The world is pain.

I've been absent, and I appologize. A very nasty knee injury has kept me from thinking of anything but pain, pills, and sweet, sweet, pill induced sleep. I'm still working, somehow, but my days have been filled with jumbled thoughts and forgotten ideas.

My leg HURTS.

I had an MRI finally on Tuesday. I get the results tomorrow. I hope the news is good. It's so swollen and the talk of surgery has gotten my hopes down... but maybe the MRI will show nothing and I'll just be forced to spend a few weeks on crutches until the pain stops.

Here's to hoping.

I'm not very interested in writing lately. I've started reading George R.R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice series... on my kindle of course. I've finished A Game of Thrones and I must say... it's an amazing book. I'm halfway through A Clash of Kings.

People in the past have told me my writing is similar to his... and I can see why. I have a bit more humor in my character's prattling, but our writing style and our distain for our own creations is similar. There is nothing like introducing a character in depth and then killing them off four pages later.

He makes me want to write again... but not the fluffy stuff of romance novels. And not yet. I want to read... to absorb... and then maybe I'll give a story such as UFFN or Checkmate or Inconstant Moon a go again.

We'll see.
